November 11, 2010 - Veterans Day Golf Tournament

A group of 64 golfers had terrific weather and great company for the 2010 ASU Veterans' Day Golf Tournament at ASU's Karsten Golf Course.

The tournament was organized by the ASU Retirees Association, both for fun and to raise some money to support our projects, particularly the Video History Project and Scholarship projects. Proceeds are being shared with the Bobby and Ellie Winkles Scholarship Endowment in the ASU Foundation, because Bobby's presence on the course encourages lots of other golfers to play. Sundt Construction and CORE Construction stepped forward as major sponsors, which we appreciate!

The format for the tournament was "modified scramble": Each player hit a tee shot, and the best tee shot of the group was selected for the location of the next fairway stroke. Each player continued to play his/her ball for all of the remaining fairway shots and putts for the remainder of play. Double bogey was the maximum individual score possible for each hole. There were no mulligans or provisional mulligans.

Our Golf Tournament Committee did a great job of putting this tournament together, after a hiatus of a couple of years.
