Zane Cody Sam attended San Juan Community College in Farmington, NM and South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, AZ.

Whether he was landscaping and working with the City of Maricopa, protecting places and others as a security guard during COVID, or helping with maintenance and supporting students and faculty at Arizona State University,

Zane was preceded in death by his daughter, father Chris Sam, and grandmothers Mary Jane Chapo and Emma Sam. 

He is survived by his stepfather Kevin Wood and his four siblings and an extended family of numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and grandparents.

Graveside services to celebrate Zane's life were held on May 19, 2025.
